On November 25 in Drummondville, a report was published by Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (OPHQ) and Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) on the theme of living with a disability in Quebec, using Statistics Canada’s Participation and Activity Limitation Survey.
This Friday November 26 at Centre Lajeunesse, AlterGo held its 36th Annual General Meeting. The meeting was led by the energetic Caroline Proulx assisted by the colourful Coordinator of Communications, Philippe Daoust.
On Friday, December 3, Zone Loisir Montérégie (ZLM) will be holding a regional conference in Châteauguay, on the subject of leisure companionship for people with disabilities.
On Friday November 26, AlterGo's 36th Annual General Meeting will be held at Centre Lajeunesse (7378 Lajeunesse St.), followed by the Handidactis public information meeting.
Last October 7, RUTA (Adapted and accessible transport users' group of the Island of Montréal) launched its Guide de l'accessibilité universelle des réseaux de transport en commun (Guide to universal accessibility of the public transportation systems). A benefit dinner followed in the form of a cabaret hosted by Émily Bégin and actor Benoît McGinnis.
As of the month of October, the Bibliothèques publiques de Montréal (the Montréal public libraries), in partnership with the Montréal Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (MAIH), will be able to offer the children of elementary classes to join with a group of persons living with an intellectual disability and sit in on the "Le roi aux drôles d'oreilles" (The king with funny ears), a tale told by professional storytellers, one of them intellectually handicapped.
